A láda az 1886-ban, alapított Vidoni Szalámigyárnak állít emléket, mely a Domb és Monti ezredes utca közötti telken épült fel és amelynek egy Friuliból (Olaszország) érkezett család volt a tulajdonosa és működtetője. A II. világháború után államosították és helyén ruhagyár kezdte meg működését. A Monti utca szintén a gyár ottléte miatt kapta nevét a híres olasz szabadságharcos után. Az üzemet Szabó Magda is említi Ókút című művében, mivel gyermekkorában épp a gyár utcájában laktak és szüleivel gyakran mentek el az épület előtt.

The cache commemorates the Vidoni Salami Factory, founded in 1886, which was built on the plot between Domb and Monti ezredes utca (streets) and which was owned and operated by a family from Friuli (Italy). After World War II, it was nationalized and a clothing factory started operating in its place. Monti utca (street) was named after the famous Italian colonel due to the location of the Italian factory. The factory is also mentioned by Magda Szabó in her book entitled Ókút, as during her childhood she lived just down the street from the factory and often passed by the building with her parents.
