Not everyone knows that I am a pilot. Even though I haven't FLOWN an airplane in over 20 years I still have all my certificates and RATINGS. These certificates and ratings are the same ones airline pilots have but since I haven't flown in such a long time it would take many thousands of DOLLARS for me to get back to currency. Most of the cost would be getting current to fly instruments. That means having the training and experience to fly without seeing outside the aircraft. I loved flying instruments because of the complexity of the procedures and looking up from the instrument cluster to see the airport runway straight ahead when popping out of the botton of the clouds. It's especially nice to see the runway ahead when flying around thunder storms, in icing conditions, with high winds, at night flying the approach to 200 and a half (200 foot ceiling and half mile visibility) all at the same time and land at O'Hare airport in Chicago in heavy traffic. Yes I have.
I've been told that if you go on a heading of 279 degrees for 3859 feet you will be there.
