Tomorrow, Punxsutawney Phil will be making his prediction on what the rest of winter will bring. But before he makes his proclaimation on the rest of the winter, he is summoning all geocachers to South Park to take park in a small little holiday known as Ice Cream for Breakfast on February 1st, 2025! He feels that all geocachers need to head to the Parcel Shelter on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM to have a piece of ice cream cake. While we are enjoying our delicious breakfast, we can discuss if the Phil will see his shadow for 6 more weeks of winter or he wont and it will be an early spring.
In order to comply by this second proclaimation, I have reserved the Parcel Shelter in South Park to chow down on ice cream. We will meet at 9:00 AM. Because this is February and there is a really good chance we are going to be freezing our kesters off, I will have a fire going in the shelter as this shelter has a wood stove in it. The shelter is located below a hill, so if there is snow on the ground and if you are feeling adventurous, bring a sled and have some fun. The little ones and some big ones might enjoy a little sledding action on hill. If there is no snow, there is a playground close by that the little ones will enjoy also. Dogs are allowed at the event as well, but they must stay on leashes the whole time. With that being said, the shelter is right outside the off leash dog park, so you can take your dog off its leash if its inside the park. I do ask that if you do let your dog run free in the off leash park, that you stay with the dog in the park at all times. If they make a mess, please clean up after them.
As mentioned above, I will be providing an ice cream cake to share with the group. I will also bring a long a box of hot chocolate to share with the group as well. If you would like to bring something else to share with the group, please do so. Please note if you will be bringing anything with your will attend log. I will have plenty of plates, plastic ware, and firewood as well. Please use the provided parking coordinates.
