Welcome to KT153, join us at the White Lion Pub in Delph for an evening of natter and other important matter.
Following on from the success of the Crown making at last months event, you are invited to bring your own lion to keep the theme going. This will ensure the event is a roaring success.
But seriously, in the mane, this is a community celebration event - we are celebrating 25 years of geocaching - yay! And therefore we have to be creative - so we welcome your best efforts. We will find an independent judge and an exclusive trackable tag will be up for grabs for the best lion in our caged competition. Buy it, make it - the choice is yours.
Lions aside, this event will be in the usual KT format of food, drink and geochat - there is an area of the pub reserved for us for the event in my name, this presently is for 20 people. Please do log a will attend so that I can update the pub in good time if this needs to be adjusted.
Food and drink is available but there is no requirement to make any purchase to attend. KT events have been going a long time and they move all over a large area. Please come along, even if you've never attended an event before you are very welcome, these events are great opportunities to get to know your local caching community.

Why Delph? I have looked far and wide for somewhere I could place new hides on a scenic walk close to a suitable pub and Delph was the only place I could come up with, everywhere is very saturated now with geocaches! However, there is plenty of room near this establishment so I will be planning new hides for 8pm, there is a little hill I've spotted and plenty of room in the village, so for those that make the journey here, you should not leave disappointed. Unless you are hoping to see a real lion, then you might be...
Delph is a pretty little village nestled in the foothills of the Saddleworth Moors. The centre of the village has barely changed from the 19th century, when a number of small textile mills provided employment for the local community. It starred in the 2001 film The Parole Officer, starring Steve Coogan. The pub is in one of the historic buildings of the village - as such it does not have a car park - but there's plenty of parking on surrounding streets.
