15th January 2025 9.30-11.30 am
Corridor of Oaks, Faulconvridge
On the 15th January, 2010, we went to look for our first geocache. It was #22 !!A E I O U !! (GC1ED6) , which I have since maintained with Alnic since the original owners are no longer caching and we wanted to keep it alive.
Initially I dont think any of the family even believed that there would be anything there, but we looked and sure enough, it existed.
Since then the rest of the family have given up on caching, but I am still going, heading towards 8,000 finds.
I've met some good friends, spent time doing a variety of types and sizes and cached in 18 different countries, taking us to places no other tourists would have seen.
I've fallen over and got back up again- I've basically had a great time seeing different places, initially mainly with family but now mainly with my caching buddy thomo31.
So out of 25 years that geocaching has been going, I've been caching for 15 years. Not bad!
Please come and join me as I celebrate this year milestone!
This event is in a very special location and is where I placed one of my first caches which still lives on there to this day
