On March 21st of this year, I hit my 10 year mark from finding my very first geocache. It's still hard to fathom that 10 years have really gone by. And with so many people coming and going through this hobby, the fact that I've hung around for 10 years is also an incredible feat. This calls for a celebration!
Come one, come all to the place where it all began. The location of where I found my very first geocache. I have long since adopted it and will have the original container I found on hand for you to see. If you haven't found GCYZJV, it'll be waiting for you, although the exact spot has moved since I found it 10 years ago to keep it going.
Things you should know:
1) I have rented the western side of the Kiawanis Pavillion for our use. There may be other groups who have rented out the other three sections so unless you want to crash their party please come to the brown picnic tables on the western side.
2) I will have finger foods, drinks, and other goodies as well. If you want to bring something to share feel free.
3) Please be timely with your "Will attends" so I know how much to bring.
4) The event time is from 3-6PM so if you show up at the paviliion before then, it's possible another group may be using the western section. Feel free to explore the park as it has so much to offer. And if the weather is good and you want to kick it for a few more hours, the sunset from the solstice steps is a view not worth missing.
5) While dogs are allowed in the park, they are not allowed inside the pavillion. So if you do happen to bring your furry friend, please abide by park rules and keep them out in the grassy areas.
6) While the parking lot is big and it did just get remodeled, weekends in the summer tend to fill it up especially on nights good for sunsets. If that happens, you may have to find street parking and take a stroll over.
7) I look forward to celebrating with y'all!
