Community Celebration Events - 2025
This Event is part of a limited release of Community Celebration Events to celebrate 25 years of geocaching. Geocachers hosted events between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025. Learn more about Community Celebration Events on the Geocaching Blog.
This year's GeoTrail officially launches on Saturday morning, May 31st, so we invite you to take a break from your mad dash cache adventure with us that afternoon. Be sure to save the date and fly your spaceship to this event to help us welcome the 2025 Metro Parks GeoTrail: Alien Invaders!
Come learn about this year's trail, and meet fellow cachers, swap stories, share adventures, enjoy a snack and more. Meet us at Highbanks Metro Park on Saturday, May 31st, 2025 from 1-3PM. We will be meeting at the Dragonfly Day Camp (685 W. Powell Road, Lewis Center, OH 43035). You can check in any time between 1:00 and 3:00.
We will be inviting new cachers to join us at 2pm to learn about this awesome hobby we all know and love. If you've been caching for awhile and want to help mentor some newbies, we'd love to have some help teaching them about geocaching and taking them to find their first cache on the GeoTrail.

For the 2025 Metro Parks GeoTrail, the first 150 teams to find any 12 GeoTrail caches are eligible to receive a special edition Metro Parks Geocoin. If you find all 15 GeoTrail caches, you can solve the puzzle and unlock the coordinates for the Bonus Cache.
• Go to metroparks.net to find complete instructions and print the GeoTrail page and search for the Columbus Metro Parks caches at geocaching.com (If the the 2025 page is on the website yet, just be patient!)
• Go to the coordinates using your GPS unit or a geocaching app and search for a camouflaged plastic container, a micro, or other tricky container.
• Sign the log, trade trinkets, and read the information under the lid. Add the code for the relevant park.
• Return to geocaching.com to log your find(s) and post comments or photographs. We read the comments and enjoy seeing your photos!
• Once you find 12 caches and have logged them with geocaching.com, complete the online form to claim your coin!

Please post a “Will Attend” if you plan to join us.
The GeoTrail is designed for all ages and abilities. We hope to see you there!
