You are cordially invited to the New York Capital Region Geocachers 23rd Annual Picnic!
On Saturday, September 6th from 10a - 4p, we will gather at Schodack Town Park for food, fun, fellowship, and foolery (games & gab.) I expect a few new caches to publish in or near the park - one of them will be designated as an "Attendee FTF" (ie. all event attendees that log a same day find can claim an FTF.) Of course there will be enough raffle prizes for everyone to take something home that they didn't bring with them. Please mark your calender and join the festivities.
Activities are centered around the potluck lunch. Hot dogs, hamburgers, paper products, and plasticware will be provided. I expect we'll have some of the usual games like the poker run (pirate run for kids), closest to the pin, and the evil nano. Other ideas are welcome and volunteers to run games will not be turned away. Along with a contribution to the potluck, please consider bringing something for the prize/raffle table (don't we all have geo-items around that we think we're going to use someday, but never do? - now's the time to make that annual swap out, you might get lucky and take something home that you'll actually make use of in 2025, and we're all winners when some of the containers in the raffle come out as new hides in the area.)
Tentative Schedule:
- 9-10a - Setup (those unloading supplies, can use Rt 150 entrance)
- 10a - Picnic is "Officially" underway - visit, snack, poker run, caches...
- 12p - Potluck lunch and group photo
- 2:15p - Poker/Pirate Run Card turn-in
- 3p - Prizes to contest winners followed by the Raffle
- 4-5p - Clean-up
A few park rules beyond the standard ones you expect at any park: No Alcohol, No Weapons, No Water Balloons, No Skateboarding
