A Community Celebration Event on a beach by boat! The event is intended to be an adventure so we are not planning to do prizes, games, raffles, etc. We are planning to go ahead rain or shine unless the rain looks like Nov 2021...
We'll bring a pop-up shelter (if needed), a folding table, a few camp chairs, some drinks and snacks along with some firewood. You should bring a sense of adventure, something to sit on and a travel mug if you would like a hot beverage. If you are inclined to make a contribution than some snacks would be welcome but not required. We'll bring coffee / hot chocolate - either premade or made using my camp stove to boil water. We aren't planning to bring any cups or mugs so do as we do in Scouting - LUG A MUG!
This is a T5 event and you should be comfortable and experienced launching your boat and crossing the river. The Pitt River is tidal with fluctuating water levels and currents. Make sure to come prepared to navigate the changing water conditions with all the required safety gear for your watercraft - Operating a human-powered craft and Safe Boating Guide.
