Welcome to Genesee Parks and Recreation. We will be meeting on August 30th 8am to 10 am at the pavilion for sharing of tales, goals and challenges including the treasures on our dashboards. Water and juice and donuts will be present. Come enjoy the early day before the heat starts to crank up. After the event there is so much for everyone to do in the area. So if you want to cache and fill in the treasure challenges with newly available caches or visit more of the Genesee Parks or even head up to Frankenmuth - a local favorite for everyone you are at an idea spot and time to begin your adventures.
Note: I have recently completed the installation of numerous caches for a group ride/walk/run challenge for all on a nice paved trail with minimal hills. The event is planned with ftf early in the day as to prevent exposure to extreme heat later in the day. Participates will also after the event have the opportunity of further caching in the area, sightseeing at Frankenmuth and other tourists sights such as Cross Roads Village. Among other activities there is boating, kayaking and swimming at nearby sites if the beaches are open. The event will at Richfield County Parks 6322 North Irish Rd, Davison MI. The trail is nicely paved the entire distance of the planned event. Note the wildlife is not tame. You may see deer, fox, squirrels, chipmunks and etc. The mosquitoes and ticks have not been fed in a very long time. The terrain can be tricky and in some spots muck boots are recommended. The actual trail is an easy going paved, minimal if any hills and about two and a half miles in length. So bring your stories, lots of fluids and snacks for any planned excursions and gear up to wander down the trail by foot, walker, or bike. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.
