Orion is a well-known and easily spotted constellation visible during winter in the northern hemisphere. It is named after a hunter in Greek mythology. Orion's two brightest stars, Rigel and Betelgeuse, are both among the brightest stars in the night sky. There are six more stars brighter than magnitude 3.0, including three which form the short straight line known as Orion's Belt. Orion also contains the annual Orionids meteor shower, the strongest shower associated with Halley's Comet, as well as the Orion Nebula, one of the brightest nebulae in the sky.
