Geocache Description:

Orion is a well-known and easily spotted constellation visible during winter in the northern hemisphere. It is named after a hunter in Greek mythology. Orion's two brightest stars, Rigel and Betelgeuse, are both among the brightest stars in the night sky. There are six more stars brighter than magnitude 3.0, including three which form the short straight line known as Orion's Belt. Orion also contains the annual Orionids meteor shower, the strongest shower associated with Halley's Comet, as well as the Orion Nebula, one of the brightest nebulae in the sky.

Of the four main non-belt stars on Orion, Saiph occupies the opposite corner from:
-Bellatrix (N 40° 07.461  W 74° 31.158)
-Alnitak (N 40° 07.961  W 74° 31.158)
-Sirius (N 40° 07.461  W 74° 31.958)
-Polaris (N 40° 07.888  W 74° 31.888)

The Stargazer series features constellations of the night sky, laid out as cache art along the Union Transportation Trail in Upper Freehold, NJ. All Stargazer caches are located on public property within the trail corridor. Hours are sunrise to sunset. Nothing at the posted coordinates.
