Rund 600 - 700km von Linz entfernt (kommt drauf an, womit man sich fortbewegt), im Herzen Donaueschingens, befindet sich die Donauquelle. Fährt man von dort entlang des Donauradweges, kann man kaum glauben, dass dieser kleine Bach, der sich durch eine wildromantische Landschaft seinen Weg bahnt, einmal der große Strom werden soll, der mit 2857 Kilometern nach der Wolga der zweitgrößte und zweitlängste Fluss in Europa ist. Der Liedermacher und Weltmusiker Hubert von Goisern hat eine musikalische Brücke quer durch Europa gebaut, indem er mit einem schwimmenden, klingenden, singenden Dorf die Donau rauf und runter gefahren ist.
Rund 6km fährt man auf dem Linzer Stadtgebiet den Donauradweg entlang (mit einem Extrakilometer zum Landhaus, hier ist auch eine Station von GC6TH34 - Achtung, Radfahrverbot), bevor es an der Stadtgrenze zu Steyregg weitergeht Richtung Wien, Bratislava, Budapest, Novi Sad, Belgrad und Russe.......
