Edward Everett built this estate to use as his summer mansion in Vermont. Some claim the mansion is haunted by the Everett family. Mr. Everett's wife, Amy, died mysteriously shortly after the estate was built. After her death, Mr. Everett remarried a much younger woman, Grace, to the dismay of his three daughters. When he passed away in 1929 the largest court case in Vermont began over his will, known as "The Battle of the Bennington Millions". Some people who have visited the grounds have claimed to see the ghostly presence of a woman dressed in white and mysterious persons wearing black hooded robes. Could these be the Everetts???
