Geocache Description:

About 1500 yards South East of this cache location pioneers on the Woodbury Cutoff, Oxbow Trail of the California Road left the far ridge and traveled west down into the valley.  They left about 2,315 feet of ruts still visible today going down the slope.  They then camped overnight in the Oak Creek bottom land to the east of you.  The next day they left the valley and traveled up the very ridge that you are now standing on.  In the pasture just west of where you are now standing there is about 1000 feet of wagon ruts still visible.  This trail, which began in Nebraska City was used from 1847 until about 1860. The remaining ruts are on the National Register of Historic Places.  All ruts are on private land so please do not enter.  No ruts are available just to your east because the land has been disturbed by farming.  There is a nearby home so please be respectful. Cache is a micro magnet.  It is an easy Park and Grab but please return it to its origional location
