Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Torstenson Family Wildlife Center. The ranch consists of 134,800 acres of BLM land. Turn off Hwy 60 at the Double H Ranch and follow the dirt road to the cache. Keep an eye out for cattle, antelope, mule deer, mountain lions and elk who are known to roam the area. You are looking for a small 3D printed cache hanging on the back of a sign. Please keep it well hidden. I hope you enjoy this little hidden gem.

Here's what I found out about this area. In 1999 the HH was acquired by Bob Torstenson. He had a vision for this place to become a showplace of progressive and caring management for wildlife habitat, and a center for passing along such values to those generations ahead. From 2004 to 2009, The Double H Ranch was a satellite program base of the Boy Scouts of America Philmont Scout Ranch. In 2008, the Boy Scouts announced that the Double H High Adventure Base would conclude in 2009. Bob died of cancer in 2002. He had given the Double H to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, so that his vision could extend beyond his short time here on earth. The Elk Foundation vowed to uphold that vision and move it forward. The ranch was eventually sold to Robert Patten a part owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
