Grand Traverse Light is located at the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula, which separates Lake Michigan and Grand Traverse Bay, marking the Manitou passage. In 1858, the present light was built, replacing a separate round tower built in 1852. It is located inside Leelanau State Park, 8 miles north of Northport, MI
This cache is located off one of the many trails located in Sleepy Hollow State Park. Most of the trails are hard packed making a bike a great way to get to the caches in the area. Please note there are some roots on the trails. Keep in mind during hunting season to be aware of hunters in the area. Hunting is allowed from September 15 until April 1st each year.
