Grand Haven South Pierhead Entrance Light is the outer light of two lighthouses on the south pier of Grand Haven, where the Grand River enters Lake Michigan. A lighthouse was first lit there in 1839. It was purchased by the City of Grand Haven in 2009 under the National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Act. It is maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers.
This cache is located off one of the many trails located in Sleepy Hollow State Park. Most of the trails are hard packed making a bike a great way to get to the caches in the area. Please note there are some roots on the trails. Keep in mind during hunting season to be aware of hunters in the area. Hunting is allowed from September 15 until April 1st each year.
