Petrified Skrug Tongue Cache
Every so often, a male troll and a female ogre fancy each other and…well...nature takes its course and a skrug is born. What’s a skrug, you ask? Well, it’s a hodgepodge creature which has some of the least attractive features of its homely parents. Skrugs have the squat bloated body and grotesquely large head of an ogre and the long gangly arms and crooked carrot nose of a troll.
However, skrugs have some uniquely repulsive characteristics of their own. For instance, they smell like a used gym sock stuffed with moldy cheese and sardines. Also, when they scream it sound like a dumpster full of cats and accordions tumbling down a hill.
Curiously, skrugs have beautiful singing voices. Unfortunately, the only song skrugs seem to know is Muskrat Love by Captain & Tennille.* Oh and here’s another thing about skrugs which is actually relevant to finding this geocache. When a skrug dies, their body dissolves within weeks but their tongue petrifies and becomes indistinguishable from rocks typically found in New England.
Many years ago, a human picked up this skrug tongue assuming it was a rock and added it to the stone wall he was building (see photo).
The cache is within 9 gonki of this skrug tongue. What’s a gonki? It’s a measure of length used by goblins. So how long is a gonki? Well, it’s roughly 2½ shiba. So how long is a shiba? Umm…I honestly have no clue. I hope this was helpful.
