A Walk Thru Time

The Wrangell Museum highlights the rich cultural and natural history of Wrangell, the only Alaskan town to have been ruled by four nations: Lingit, Russia, Great Britain and the United States.

Discover Wrangell's history on an interactive walk through time beginnng with early Native American prehistory and the time of Lingit rule.  Follow in the footsteps of fur traders during the government of the Russian-American Fur Co. and British Hudson Bay Co. and see Wrangell through the eyes of Wyatt Earp and John Muir durin the lawless days of the Gold Rush.  Meet hte missionionaries and learn about their influence on the wild frontier town and their impact of Lingit culture.  Experience the rise of fishing, mining and forest industries before winding into recent history of turn of the century Wrangell.  

And let's not forget the importance of Tug Boats to coastal communities.
