Geocache Description:

Do not attempt this cache in times of flood, and it may not be accessible with high river flows as well.

Poor old She-Oaks, they certainly cop a hiding, but those fortunate enough to be rooted within the rock crevices must stand a much better chance of surviving massive floods, which is quite obvious in this area! Look up into the top branches and you can see driftwood and things up very high up in these guys, so they must have been underwater for many days at a time for heavan knows how often.

Casuarina pines are native Australian Plants, but were knicknamed She-Oaks due to the similarity of the cut timber to European Oak. They can grow from 5 to 15m depending on their location and can readily survive in very poor sandy soils, relatively fast growing and has a life span of up to 50 years.

Considering the punishment these guys have already been subjected to, will they survive? But now another challenge, will the cache survive another torrent?

Time will tell.

Remember, as should always be the case with this type of cache, please do not overtighten!
