Lilla holmen ligger nära centrum och är ett av stadens äldsta rekreationsområde.
Redan för 150 år sedan, år 1870, uppförde den första bron hit på privat initiativ. Från början var det tänkt att aänvända ön som båthamn, men ganska snart tog friluftsintresset över. 1881 övertogs parken av Mariehamns stad.
Idag finns här en allmän badplats, uppskattad av både sommar- och vinterbadare. Här kan man titta på fåglar och se på smådjur och det finns även lekplats, beachvolleyplan, en liten äventyrsbana. Lilla Holmen är ett populärt utflyktsställe bland både ortsbor och turister! Cyklar och hundar är förbjudna i området. Denna ALB kommer guida dig runt området.

Lilla Holmen ("the Little Island) is close to the city center and is the oldest recreation area in Mariehamn.
Already 150 years ago, in 1870, the first bridge was built here on private initiative. From the beginning it was ment to be used as a boat harbor, but the area soon became more as an recreation area. In 1881, the Park was taken over by the city of Mariehamn.
Today there is a public beach here, appreciated by both summer and winter swimmers. Here you can watch birds and see small animals and there is also a playground, beach volleyball court, and a small adventure course. Lilla Holmen is a popular excursion destination among both locals and tourists! Bicycles and dogs are prohibited in the area. This ALB will guide you around the area.
