One morning my son (4 years old) woke up and told me that he would really like to go on a treasure hunt. At first I was stumped, but then I remembered the idea of GeoCaching. I quickly searched an app, and to my astonishment, realized there were hundreds of caches surrounding our area! That day we went treasure hunting! Both my 10 year old daughter and my 4 year old son fell in love. We have always loved to hike and explore, but how neat to be able to treasure hunt at the same time! "We're adventure pirates!" as my son will say.
After finding a few dozen caches, my children decided they wanted to contribute to the fun. This is our first hide.
Being a life-long resident of Marquette, MI I have had the fortunate opportunity of hiking many beautiful trails. This section of trails is located off of a road that most locals doesn't know exists. These trails are winding and well maintained; very accommodating for families with young children. If you hike them at the right time, you may even stumble upon some incredible blackberry patches! If you enjoy single track biking, this is also for you!
