🇮🇹 Maccagno Imperiale deriva la sua intitolazione dell’esser stato «corte regale, terra per sé, feudo degli Imperatori» per quasi seicento anni, dal 1230 circa al 1797, prima sotto la signoria della famiglia Mandelli, poi, dal 1692 circa, dei Borromeo.
