Geocache Description:

Meet the Kitty

Cat Servant: jlsteel1 and sawyer73

The Cat:
Sonny

This is Sonny!! He’s a 3 yr old orange tabby. We adopted him through Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit. He’s a very inquisitive cat. Always poking his head in things to check them out, cupboards, bags, boxes, closets. He’s never gone geocaching but I bet he’d be interested to nose around inside the container. Sonny’s an indoor cat because we live in the city and don’t trust he’d find his way home if he ventured too far. He loves to sit in the windows though and watch the birds and the squirrels and the occasional bunny. We have discovered that he likes to watch Cat TV. He comes running whenever he hears the birds at the start of the videos. He seems very fascinated, especially on a big screen. Lol!! Now Sonny is an orange cat and most orange cats have a special kind of temperament. Sonny has a mind of his own a lot of the time and only likes what he likes. He’s not shy around people but doesn’t like to be picked up or held for long. He’s also a bit of a biter and doesn’t know how to play without using his claws. (Some times he will play nice though). One of his favorite games is to play chase around the house and up and down the stairs. He’s a wild man on the stairs. He’s a big boy too and looks even bigger when his fur poofs out. Stalking the laser pointer is also a fun game (for me as I watch him try to catch it). Even though he’s not the lap kitty that we thought he’d be, he’s grown on us over the years and we love him. He does get spoiled from time to time. He loves his water fountain and his treats.

The Trail

The Fred Meijer Flat River Valley Rail-Trails runs from Belding to Greenville and caches are placed within the right of way for the trail. A few caches are placed along the Fred Meijer Flat River Trail that circles Greenville and a few are on the sides of the roads. You can walk, run, bike, snowshoe, and cross country ski the rail-trail between Belding and Greenville. Currently the majority of rail-trail is not paved; it is crushed asphalt.

Parking

Coordinates for parking are in the additional waypoints of the first cache to this Geo-Art, GCAWHAX.

Caches

Some caches may require wading, short tree climbs, log crossing, and climbing up steep hills. Many of the caches are winter friendly but several are at ground level. You may need to dig through the snow for a few. All containers are painted sports bottles with a tube inside for the log book. Containers are tethered to location with strong camoed fish line. Please do not break.  Do not add any swag to the container or the next may not be able to get out the log book.  If a cap comes up missing, please, let CO know or carry a few sports bottle caps with you. If the fish line breaks, fix or let the CO know.

Please be respectful of this area!
