Followed by an unofficial post-CITO pub night at the Meridian Arms Pub. No minors, obviously no Geopups. It's burger night and Trivia night and I'll be going over. You're welcome to join me!
Another Chunk of the Elephant! - Wellington 11/13
As the saying goes, "How do you eat an elephant? - one bite at a time..." katcogo keeps telling us that's our approach to tackling the massive amount of invasives here. We're making progress, but much more biting required to get this done. Blessed that we're able to come and work on this park when many cities make it very difficult to come and help out. And we are thanked each and every time for our efforts by passerbyers, neighbours and the city employees.
Find me at the table at Wellington Park as the City of Port Coquitlam has us continue to do some invasive plant removal... We have been given this park to continue to work on clearing! Awesome! This will be the eleventh trip to this park to help continue to eradicate the invasive ivy, blackberry, lamium and holly. We will concentrate on the Southern area between Patricia Ave and the Trans-Canada trail for this CITO. This area has lots of ivy, and lamium but it may be hidden in brambles... It is very exciting to see progress being made... This area especially has had the best turnouts and hence has the best clearing so far! We're doing amazing work!

THIS AREA IS COMPLETELY SHADED IN THE EVENING!!!
Please, bring a water bottle.
There will be work gloves and pruners to use... There will be tarps to help cart the invasives to the pick up area. Please come prepared to potentially get dirty. This is bear country - although we should be noisy enough that we won't be bothered...
