"The Misleading Hat Puzzle"
Three friends—Alice, Bob, and Carol—are standing in a line facing forward. Alice is at the front, Bob is in the middle, and Carol is at the back. Each friend is wearing a hat that is either red or blue, but they cannot see their own hat.
Carol can see both Bob's and Alice's hats, Bob can see only Alice's hat, and Alice can't see any hats. The friends know there are two red hats and one blue hat among them.
Carol is asked if she knows the colour of her hat, and she says, "No." Then, Bob is asked if he knows the colour of his hat, and he also says, "No." Finally, Alice is asked if she knows the colour of her hat, and she says, "Yes."
