The History of Carleton Place has lots of cool stories about people discovering the area or living here. This spot has a story to tell about the very first people to come here sometime after the Champlain Sea left thousands of years ago. The evidence of the first people to Carleton Place seems to stand here mixing Biology (or Silvology - had to look that up!), Geography and History. I love the lessons nature can teach us. Hope you can take a moment to admire a pretty spot by the river, good views here or the walkway bridge nearby. A little pocket of the old history hidden inside our modern world. Pretty amazing to stand where someone may have stood 5000 years ago for the first time.
