Friendship bridge was built in 2020 to facilitate pedestrian and bicycle traffic between Malecones of Miraflores and San Isidro. Even though there was an attempt from a San Isidro mayor (unfriendly to sustainable transportation) to deviate all bicycle traffic to Av. El Ejército, public pressure made him accept the initial plans to have the bicycle/pedestrian path to go around the newly created "Bicentennial Park", built to commemorate Peru's 200 years of independence (1821 -2021). With this project, there is now a continuous bike path from Chorrillos to "Parque de la Pera"(pear park because of its shape) at the limit of San Isidro and Magdalena. The bike path even joins Salaverry avenue bike path, which easily takes a bike rider to downtown Lima. This is a cache of the Malecón de Miraflores series. The cache container is a metal container painted in gray hidden on the northwestern end of the bridge.
