It's time once again to come together for a wacky, fun-filled event where we just get silly and go crazy!
The theme for this year? "Can You Hear Me Now?" Remember those old Verizon cell phone commercials with the guy who constantly asked if we could hear him now? Well, I thought it would be fun to recreate this with BANANA CELL PHONES! Imagine the hilarity when 10:00 am hits and all of a sudden everyone hears a loud cell phone ringing noise... then, our whole group of cachers all bust out our banana phones to take the call!! Bring a banana, real or fake, and come join in the fun!!!
A Flash Mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse.
What is the WWFM? WWFM – World Wide Flash Mobs – A fun and friendly way to promote geocaching around the world.
Thousands of geocachers at dozens of coordinated events spanning the globe, gathering at the same time.
Our plan is to gather September 14th, 2024, to commemorate World Wide Flash Mob XXI near the lower duck pond open grassy area of Lithia Park in Ashland. Be sure to bring the whole family to take part in the hilarious banana phone hijinx!
WWFM - XX Agenda
Here's the plan: Let's all plan on arriving around 9:45 am, finding a parking spot, maybe locating a nearby cache or two. As the 10 am time of surprise approaches, we'll very casually and nonchalantly make our way together and get ready for the impending incoming phone call we're all about to receive!
10:00-10:14 AM The phone ring will go out and everyone will commence their banana phone calls and conversations!!!
10:15 AM Cease your calls and Sign the Log Book.
10:20 AM Gather for official Group Photo
10:30 AM Disperse! Move away from the GZ and go about the rest of your day.
