A catch up by the water #6 – Wooroonook Lakes
The idea of our “catch up by the water” events is to explore different areas via geocaching. Whether it be a river, a lake, the ocean or a waterfall there is something special about being by water so let’s combine them together. Welcome to event #6 😊
When: Saturday 5th October 2024
Time: 12pm – 1pm
Where: 1432 Borung Hwy, Wooroonook
Located 13km west of Charlton, the Wooroonook Lakes were an important source of water for the First People’s and became a life line for the early settlers in the 1870s. The site has seen plenty of fishing, swimming and boating for over 100 years.
Facilities include camping, powered and unpowered sites for a small fee, an amenities block, BBQ, playground and a pontoon. Bring along any trackables you would like discovered or moved on.
Wooroonook Lakes is a great spot to just sit back and relax or even enjoy a leisurely paddle or fish.
Hope you can make it.
