I've been wanting to start a "Welcome to" series and while doing some geneology research decided the best place to start is with a place named for an ancestor.
The Kessingers came to this area in the late 1700's after Solomon "Old Sol" Kessinger received land on Bacon Creek for serving under Gen. George Rogers Clark during the American Revolution. After around 250 years Sol's descendants still populate the area but have also spread all over the US.
This should be a quick, easy grab. BYOP and have fun!
