New York Capital Region Geocachers continue their tradition of a simple gathering to celebrate our hobby, catch up with each other, explore a little, play some geogames, etc., and ultimately have an all-around good time.
Two notable changes this year:
- We are earlier this year. It turns out that NYGO reformed and claimed the weekend that I had been planning to host this event. I was told that they had trouble grabbing a pavilion.
- We are at the exact same place as last year. I know that we like to move around but Item #1 above also meant that we had trouble grabbing a pavilion with the last-minute switch. Next year, I hope NYGO and NYCRG can coordinate better so that people can attend both events comfortably.
There will be more information to come, such as a potluck list for our lunch, and a volunteer list for people that would like to step up (maybe host a game, give a small presentation, whatever -- if you are stepping up, you get to be as awesome as you would like -- just let me know so I can post it on the page).
Schedule:
- 8:00ish Some folks will probably arrive to set up. Everyone is welcome.
- 9:00 Pavilion Opens formally
- varied Branching Out activities (go caching)
- 12:00 Potluck Lunch and Group Photo
- 2:00 Pavilion Games (ex: Closest to the Pin)
- 3:00 Raffles, Contest Winners, etc.
- 4:00 Pavilion Closes formally (but please feel welcome to stay beyond)
Again, more information to follow soon. I just wanted to get the page up and running now that the mad dash to secure a location (which determined the new date) has resolved.
