Sometimes when the roads between Moss Vale and Mittagong are particularly busy, we decide to take The Old Hume Highway route via Berrima, the scenic route. This section of road was opened in 1966 but bypassed in 1989. To me in some ways it still looks the part of a major highway, there's still quite a bit of traffic along it for one. But then there are the reminders that the bypass was needed, such as here, the infrequent sections of dual carriageway where you could finally overtake that slow vehicle!
This section of road also crosses Cordeaux Creek which you can see at GZ.
