Geocache Description:

About This Cache:

This is a mystery cache which means that there is nothing physical to find at the published coordinates.  Instead, you will need to download the Adventure Lab app.  You can log-in using the same details as your Geocaching account.  At each of the five locations, you will need to answer a question.  The coordinates for the final location will be revealed as you complete the Adventure Labs.  You can then add these coordinates as a "waypoint" in the Geocaching app and navigate to the final container accordingly.

At GZ, you are looking for a larger custom container.

About St Benet’s Abbey:

The Abbey of St Benet at Holme lies deep in the Broads, close to the meeting place of the rivers Bure and Ant. This was the only Norfolk monastery founded in the Anglo-Saxon period which continued in use throughout the Middle Ages, and is the only monastery in England which was not closed down by Henry VIII – the Bishop of Norwich is still the Abbot.

As well as being of great historical interest, St Benet’s Abbey is also very atmospheric. For over 200 years it has been a favourite spot for artists, photographers, and tourists.

About This Series:

This is one of three trails which have been set up around Caistor Roman Town, St Benet’s Abbey and Burgh Castle. Roman remains have been found at Caistor Roman Town and Burgh Castle, whilst Monks were known to reside at St Benet’s Abbey.  We have therefore themed the series as “Romans, Romans, Monks.”

We hope you enjoy the trails and the sites.  Please keep dogs on a lead at all times.

A significant amount of time and effort has gone into creating these caches.  Please use stealth and ensure that each cache is well covered and closed properly, when returned to its hiding place.

The caches have been placed with the kind permission and in collaboration with the Norfolk Archaeological Trust.
