There is something still living here that was alive when this cemetery was founded in the mid-1800s. The people probably enjoyed its "treasures" given to this area on many sunny afternoons; if only it could talk about what life was like back then, as it was here at least 200 years before this cemetery.
This cache is a small Geocache treasure box that can be full of goodies to trade and the occasional trackable making its way through the area. There is a pencil in it as well for marking the log book.
There is parking in the gravel lot across the street at the church. Please be respectful of those resting here. The cemetery is open dawn to dusk, so there is no night caching. Please remember to place the cache back securely as found. Enjoy!
CACHE FIND BONUS:
Mt. Zion Cemetery was founded by Samuel Wilkins, who died on August 31, 1865 and is buried here. Locate Samuel's tombstone and give him a moment of silence for finding a peaceful place for those here to rest eternally.
