Geocache Description:

Situated just north of Cambridge, Girton Wood was created to commemorate the Millennium by the Woodland Trust as one of their 'Woods on Your Doorstep' woodlands. It's a small and secluded broadleaf woodland connected by many paths from Girton and other villages.

There is free parking at the Girton recreation ground, near the church, where there is a plaque commemorating Vic Watson, the former England and West Ham player, who was born and died in Girton.

Note that no dogs are allowed across the rec but can be taken via public footpaths from the north of Girton.

The container is a small plastic box with room for trackables and swappables.

Cache placed with the kind permission of the Woodland Trust.

Well done to QuySuz for the FTF!
