Meet the Kitty
Cat Servant: Bastetøs
The Cat: Boo
One day, we found a small black cat hiding underneath our deck. It seemed a little skittish, but otherwise friendly and non-aggressive. Of course, I wanted to keep it right away! But the rest of the family was a little hesistant. Maybe it had some diseases, would have a high vet bill, or even was someone else's lost cat. We fed it, then asked around if anyone was missing a cat.
A few days passed, and not much changed. The cat still showed up every once in a while, and no one claimed it. But late one night, we were suddenly woken up to terrible wailing. The cat had climbed up the tree, and was not happy. At the base of the tree was a possum, staring right up at it! We promptly scared away the possum, and tried to coax the cat down the tree. Eventually it gave in, and we let it sleep inside the house for the night.
Now that the cat was in the house, it was a lot easier to realize we were going to adopt it. It was brought into the vet, where we discovered that it was a "she", and that the vet bill wouldn't be too bad. She went through the process, and since no one had claimed the lost cat, she became ours. She was a lovely cat that lived a long life, before eventually passing away in 2021.

The Trail
The Fred Meijer Flat River Valley Rail-Trails runs from Belding to Greenville and caches are placed within the right of way for the trail. A few caches are placed along the Fred Meijer Flat River Trail that circles Greenville and a few are on the sides of the roads. You can walk, run, bike, snowshoe, and cross country ski the rail-trail between Belding and Greenville. Currently the majority of rail-trail is not paved; it is crushed asphalt.
Parking
Coordinates for parking are in the additional waypoints of the first cache to this Geo-Art, GCAWHAX.
Caches
Some caches may require wading, short tree climbs, log crossing, and climbing up steep hills. Many of the caches are winter friendly but several are at ground level. You may need to dig through the snow for a few. All containers are painted sports bottles with a tube inside for the log book. Containers are tethered to location with strong camoed fish line. Please do not break. Do not add any swag to the container or the next may not be able to get out the log book. If a cap comes up missing, please, let CO know or carry a few sports bottle caps with you. If the fish line breaks, fix or let the CO know.
