פרדס חנה כרכור ממוקמת על שרידי יער אלוני השרון העתיק אשר מתועד מזה מאות שנים. בתחום שיפוט היישוב ניתן למצוא עצי אלון עתיקים הנושאים היסטוריה רבת שנים בענפיהם ולצידם ניצני התחדשות טבעיים וכן עצים נטועים מימי הקמת היישוב ועד היום. מגוון ועושר העצים הגדול במרחב הציבורי והפרטי משתלבים עם הזהות התרבותית, אופי וציביון המושבה.
בסוף רחוב אחוזה בקצה המזרחי של כרכור, עומד ניצב לו על גבעה קטנטנה שריד ליער השרון הקדום אלון תבור גדול ובודד. האלון הגדול חלול מבפנים, ולו “אוזן משאלות” אשר לפי האגדה המקומית ניתן לטפס לפתחה וללחוש לתוכה משאלה. האלון ניצל מתקופת העות’מניים מכיוון שמצוי על שטח הווקף ולא נכרת למטרות הסקה או בנייה.
שביל כורכר נוח ורחב מקיף את השדה החקלאי ומוביל מהרחוב אל הגבעה בנוחות וניתן להגיע להתרשם מיופיו הייחודי, לאורך כל עונות השנה.
מינים מיוחדים בסביבת האלון הבודד: בגבעה נאתר מחילות רבות של גיריות מצויות ועקבות של תנים, שועלים וכלבים. הגבעה של האלון הבודד מיוחדת גם הודות לצמחייה העשבונית בהרכב יחיד מסוגו באזור – הגעדה הקיפחת היא צמח עשבוני רב- שנתי, ממשפחת השפתניים שגדל בסביבה של קרקעות קלות. תפוצתה של הגעדה מהגולן ועד השרון פורחת בין אפריל ליולי. כל פרח מורכב מחמישה עלי כותרת בצבע כחול סגול, ועליה הדקים נראים כגזורים. זהו צמח בסכנת הכחדה חמורה מאוד בארץ.
Pardes Hana Karkur is located on the remains of the ancient Sharon oak forest which has been documented for hundreds of years. In the jurisdiction of the settlement you can find ancient oak trees that carry many years of history in their branches and next to them natural regeneration buds as well as trees planted from the days of the establishment of the settlement until today. The great variety and wealth of trees in the public and private space integrate with the cultural identity, character and position of the colony.
At the end of Ahuza Street at the eastern end of Karkur, standing on a tiny hill a relic of the ancient Sharon forest is a large and lonely Tabor oak. The great oak is hollow inside, and it has a "wishing ear" which, according to local legend, you can climb into and whisper a wish into. The oak was saved from the Ottoman period because it is on the waqf territory and was not cut down for logging or construction purposes.
A comfortable and wide kurkar path surrounds the agricultural field and leads from the street to the hill comfortably and you can come and admire its unique beauty, throughout all seasons of the year.
Special species in the vicinity of the lone oak: on the hill we found many dens of common badgers and traces of jackals, foxes and dogs. The hill of the lonely oak is also special thanks to the herbaceous vegetation in a unique composition of its kind in the region -
The sedge is a perennial herbaceous plant, from the sedge family that grows in an environment of light soils. The distribution of the Geda from the Golan to the Sharon flourishes between April and July.
Each flower consists of five purple-blue petals, on which the thin petals appear to be cut. This is a plant in very serious danger of extinction in Israel.
