Five and a half years ago I found BrianSnat's classic Burnt Meadow Road cache just a few feet from here. What was particularly special about that day of cacheing was that I met Ovaron for the first time and JatLink too. We decided to team up and work together so we could get kcmcacher's epic 10+ mile multicache done before nightfall. It was one of my most memorable and enjoyable days of geocaching since I started this odd little hobby.
Along the way we passed this spot and Ovaron was kind enough to climb down and hand it to me without me having to do any of the dirty work at all.
When I saw Maria's log and log photos on Brian's cache, I knew it was gone, but I was very curious to see the condition of the road from where it used to be closed to this culvert bridge structure. The road is completely unrecognizable. The deep puddles spanning the width of the road are filled in, and most of it is well graded, though there is some erosion starting in the steeper parts.
The large Raod Closed sign is gone, but a smaller older sign is still in place. I'd play it safe and park in the pulloff by the sign and walk the rest of the way.
Have fun and enjoy the freshly graded Burnt Meadow Road!
