Geocache Description:

Aintree Station:

Aintree Station was opened on April 2nd, 1849 by the East Lancashire Railway. It was later re-named Aintree Sefton Arms after the nearby public house, before reverting back to its original name on May 6th, 1968. Previously, services were offered to Liverpool Exchange and directly to Preston via Ormskirk, although these services are no longer provided. Remnants of the disused North Mersey Branch line are visible both at the station and on the Park Lane bridge. Currently, services operate between Ormskirk and Liverpool Central, with passengers required to change at Ormskirk to continue to Preston. Of course, Aintree is synonymous with horse racing and hosts the annual Grand National steeplechase, which leads to sudden increases in station activity.

This Cache:

This cache is not located at the posted co-ordinates, but you will find it a short distance away. To find this cache, a magnetic nano, you will need to visit the posted co-ordinates (the station ticket office) and view the dark grey plaque above one of the windows. On this plaque there is a date, in the format dd/mm/yyyy. Call this date AB/CD/EFGH.

The cache is hidden at:

N 53 28.(A * E) G (E - C)

W 002 57.(B - (A + C)) (A - C) ((A * E) + C)

Please maintain stealth at all times, since this station can be quite busy. I'd recommend avoiding this on race days, to avoid appearing suspicious and protect the integrity of the cache. The cache should be easy to find and take no longer than five minutes to find.
