This is the seventh in a series of Sudokaches exploring different sudoku variant rules. "Renban" comes from the Japanese 連番 (renban), meaning consecutive or serial numbering.
Normal sudoku rules apply. Digits on a purple line must be a consecutive set, in any order. For example, 2435 is a valid fill for a 4-cell renban line, but 2436 is not, as 6 is not consecutive with the other digits on the line.
Some hints for those who haven't seen this variant before, highlight text to read:
- Purple lines can't have repeated digits.
- A 5-cell line must contain the digit 5, as it must have 12345 or 56789 or somewhere in between.
- A 3-cell line in a row, column, or box which already contains 4 and 8 must have either 123 or 567.
- A 4-cell line in a row, column, or box which already contains a 6 must have 234 and one of 1 or 5.

APOLOGIES, PUZZLE WAS PREVIOUSLY INCORRECT: the given digit in row 7 column 8 should be a 6, not a 7 as was originally published. I have corrected the image above and updated the link to the online solver. If you have already solved the old version of the puzzle, you need to replace some 7's with 6's and/or vice versa in your solution, it should be fairly obvious which ones.
GZ is, well, at a location whose coords make up two sets of consecutive digits. It's also a pleasant walk to get to, though that doesn't fit the theme. Happy solving and hunting!
