The hide is in Catalina State Park boundaries, which requires a $7 fee per car (1 to 4 adults), $3 Individual/bicycle or the use of a yearly State Park Pass.

Trailhead can be hard to spot, but the trail is easy to follow once out of the wash, hang a left by a No Horses sign on the Birding Trail and then trail is just a little way along the wash and on your left, offline map is useful !
Cache is just off the trail and is a good size container, with plenty of room for trades, use the usual desert awareness etc
