I have had trouble trying to decide what to do for my CCE. I felt that several ideas were good, but some issue complicated each one. And time is running out! So here's the idea that I came up with which was inspired by the fact that I'm a Lions fan!
The date for this event is Thanksgiving Day, and it's the annual Thanksgiving Day Detroit Lions home football game. This is a tradition that has been hosted by the Detroit Lions since 1934. Hopefully, the Lions will come away winners this year!
Another tradition was started by John Madden. He awarded the first turkey leg during the Thanksgiving day game on November 28, 1989, when the Philadelphia Eagles played the Dallas Cowboys. The first recipient was Eagles defensive end Reggie White.
This event will start at 10:00 am and end at 12:00 pm. The game starts at 1:00 pm, which should give any attending Lions fans time to get to their watch venue. It will be held at Halmich Park in Warren, MI. We will gather under one of the pavilions in the park. Dress for the weather. The restroom will be closed for the season.
This will be a "Meet & Greet" event with caching talk (and Lions talk if you're a fan).
I will be providing some basic "tail-gating" type foods. If you would like to bring a dish to pass, that would be greatly appreciated
There will be a prize raffle drawing held at 11:30 am. You need to be present to win.
As I finalize the plans, I will update this page.
