Geocache Description:


Date: 24 August 20125 (Sunday)

Time: 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Place: Charlottetown, PEI (Tim Horton's)

Purpose: Social Fun

Not a poker player? “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” (click). The Rules are as simple as 1, 2, 3, 4:


(1) Ante Up

When you register & sign in you will need to drop an unactivated TB or geocoin in the ammo can as your “buy in” to the game (TBs will be available to purchase on-site for $8.00 if you need one)
You are more than welcome to attend the Event and participate in the "Poker Run" without dropping off/entering a TB -- you will just not be eligible for the prize-draws.


[If you are a regular "2-person geocacher" (e.g., TeamBikeFast or 7TNT), you can register as one and gather one poker hand, or each member of the "team" can register and get their own poker hand]

(2) Get the Coords

You will be given a handout sheet with five (5) sets of coords in the nearby People's and Roman Catholic cemeteries where you will seek out various Justice League of America (JLA) "Superheroes". Each Superhero found & correctly identified will earn you a playing card when you check in at the end.

There will also be new Adventure Labs (AL) released during the Event plus several different Superhero-themed caches to be found.
The 5 cache venues can be done in any order.

(3) Get the Cards

At check-in you will be dealt playing cards to make up your poker hand. If you found & correctly identified all 5 Superheroes you will receive 5 cards; 4 Superheroes, 4 cards and so forth. For each new Adventure Lab (AL) completed you will have the option to discards & draw a new card to improve your hand.

(4) Reveal the Hand

Jokers are fully wild but colour restricted

PRIZES:

1. Winning poker hand receives all the unactivated TBs & geocoins.

2. Runner-up poker hand receives a fully-loaded ammo can cache ready for placement. [In the event of a tie, an ammo can "toss off" will decide the winners]

3. Tickets will be given out and a random draw will be made for FTF honours & additional prizes.

NOTE:

This is NOT a poker RACE! There is no incentive for trying to be first on site at the various cache venues — it will give you NO advantage for prizes or FTFs. Have fun and enjoy the hunt.
