SmilEE for the camera - Photo Scavenger Hunt (CCE)

Come join us (Lee and DIane) on September 20th for a 2025 Community Celebration Event (CCE).

When we were awarded a Community Celebration Event (CCE), we went to work to think about a fun way to celebrate 25 years of geocaching with our geo-friends. Since 2007, Geocaching has taken us to many places we might not normally have otherwise gone. Along the way, we have taken many pictures to remember where we have been and things we have discovered. As a result, our geocaching Photo Gallery has over 2500 photos posted in it.

Recently, we have had opportunities to look back over the photos of the places we have been and things we have seen. Feeling nostalgic,we wanted to celebrate with the geocaching community with a Photo Scavenger Hunt.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following items will be needed for this event:

1. A digital camera or a camera phone.
2. A GPS (or a Coordinate Location smartphone app) to mark the location of the object.
3. A pen/pencil to write the location down.

The event will begin at the posted coordinates above.

The event will start at 4:00pm on Saturday September 20th, 2025.

Please post your WILL ATTEND log so that we are able to prepare enough event supplies for everyone.

We will provide some Road Snacks and Beverages for your photographic adventures.

This is intended to be a family-friendly event, So feel free to bring the kiddos along to help search for the items.

You can  Participate in this "competition," as an individual or team up with another geocacher. We want to see how many unique places or items that everyone can find.

We are compiling a list of things that we are hoping you can find and have fun. This list will be provided at the event.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some items of interest:

  • Various points will be awarded for each item found on the list. Scoring levels TBD.
  • Easier items will earn fewer points than the harder, more obscure items on the list.
  • You will have 75 minutes to find the items on the list. This is NOT a race.
  • Time starts after everyone receives their photo packet and the rules are explained.
  • Time will be kept via GPSr clock.
  • You do not have to find all the items on the list.
  • It will be up to you to determine how many items on the list you can or want to find.
  • We will be providing you with a special proof item for use in all photos.
  • photos must be documented with a location. This will be incorporated into your scoresheet.
  • Items can be found inside or outside.
  • You are not allowed to take pictures of items that are at/of your home or at/in your geomobile.
  • All visited locations must be publicly accessible, if you take pictures indoors.
  • Beyond this, you are only limited by your imagination.
  • Our hope is that you will post the photos you take with your online log.
  • We will have prizes to give away for various Top Finishers.
  • Tie-breakers TBD.
  • Again, this is NOT a race.
