An ICONic GIFF Community Celebration Event Community Celebration Event

Geocaching International Film Festival 2025 events will run from November 6-16. More than 60 filmmakers from 21 countries submitted a film to the 11th biennial Geocaching International Film Festival (GIFF), the 20 finalists were chosen by Geocaching HQ, and everyone around the world will gather to watch the films. The films last about an hour and we'll be watching them on a big projector screen. We'll have a vote to see which one is everyone's favorite!

This event is a follow up to my "An ICONic Community Celebration Event" held on 6/18/22 (https://coord.info/GC8M9PA). This time, it'll be extra ICONic with lots of different cache types to share FTF on AND a GIFF viewing event. Stay tuned for what cache types will be published that day.

I've reserved a classroom in Schoolcraft College's Health Science Center (HS465) from 1pm until 3pm. Park in the North Parking Lot, use the entrance to the building closest to the posted coords, then it'll be the first room on your left.

There is a seating capacity of 40 people. Popcorn and water will be provided.

The plan is to hand out the GPX file for the new caches around 1pm, then start the GIFF films some time between 1:15pm to 1:30pm. After the films end, we'll have a voting sheet to determine which ones were the favorites. Anyone that finds any of the new caches that day shares First to Find on them.

So come celebrate 25 years of caching, earn your GIFF event souviner, get a bunch of FTFs on different cache types, and visit with lots of other cachers in the community... this is, afterall, a Community Celebration and this year’s GIFF theme is “TFTC—Thanks For The Community!”
