cmanofmaps at GC5B - Phil's Memorial Cache (Oldest CA. Cache)
Cory (aka cmanofmaps) is about to enter the five digit club by reaching 10,000 finds! Be there as he makes his 10,000th find (this event) and enjoy the revelry to follow.
There's no better way I can think to celebrate my momentus milestone than with fellow geocachers. Please join me for a BBQ potluck meal at my home from 5:30-(officially 8:00) but really...who knows when??? It's my house! Stay and have fun! Dinner main course will be ready around 6:00pm, and raffle around 6:30-45ish. You are welcome to come and go as you please within the event time.
I'll have the grill going and provide hot dogs/polish sausages with buns and some condiments. Please plan to bring a side, dessert, or drink (post what you plan to bring in your Will Attend log and I'll update it on the list below). I do have a small backyard with some seating but probably not enough for everyone so I would advise bringing a camp chair. Depending on the weather we can expand inside the living room. Dogs are ok to bring but would ask that they stay in the backyard (we have two older cats who get easily stressed by dogs).Parking is available on the street but this is a residential street so please be considerate of the neighbors.
Activities include:
Log Signing: I'll be signing the official event log book (an engraved ammo can!) at around 6pm, and invite all to take a metallic sharpie to it after!
Raffle: I'll be drawing the raffle around 6:45. You'll receive a raffle ticket upon arrival. I'll have various geocaching items out but donations are welcome if you'd like.
Trackable Exchange table: I'll have a table set up for exchange and discovery of trackables, including my entire geocoin collection for discovery. If I get my act together in time I'll prepare a list of the codes for you to take home and discover at your leisure.
Trackable LCR: Ever played the dice game LCR? (Left-Center-Right). If not, you're in for a treat. Bring three trackables to participate! (Can be active or inactive)
Milestone Story Board: If you're over 10,000 finds, what was your 10,000th milestone cache? Not there yet? Perhaps you have another memorable milestone you'd like to share. I'll have a story board up for you to share your story on! (note: I mean this literally, and no you do not have to talk in front of everyone, signed a person who hates public speaking)
TB Hotel: I am currently in the process of making a new TB hotel that is going to live on my front porch after the event. While it's my goal to have it published before the event, it's still a work in progress so I can't guarantee it. If I have it ready, you can visit it and log it. If not, I'll give a preview.
Edit: It's now published! Visit GCBAPG6
Other Caches: I'm hoping to hide a few caches in the general area of my house and have them publish before the event. Edit, unfortunately I won't have time, but there's still plenty of other caches in the west Roseville area! Come early! (note: if you come to the area early for caching and want to store things in my fridge, message me and we can arrange that! Food safety comes first
)
