As you have moved amongst your geocaching circles you may have heard of Cachetur.no, a free-to-use web based trip planning tool. It can be a powerful and useful tool if you are planning a geocaching excursion, a road trip, even a local trip, or maybe a geoart cache run.
Cachetur allows you to:
- Plan geocaching trips both near and far
- Import from and export to bookmarks on geocaching.com
- Add other waypoints, such as parking coordinates, tourist attractions, etc
- Quickly and easily see what caches you have planned and what caches you or any of the trip's participants own or have found
- Generate routes for your trip
- See statistics for the caches in your trip
- Invite others to participate in your trip
Cachetur is completely free to use (it is financed by donations). You do have to be a Premium Member on geocaching.com to use Cachetur.
This is the first of two planned classes on ways to use Cachetur.no. This class will cover the basics, such as:
- Setting up an account (links to your premium geocaching.com account)
- Creating a trip
- Adding geocaches and other points of interest
- Route calculation
- Trip execution (using the optional phone app)
When: March 1, 2025, 1 pm - 3 pm
Where: Oak Bend Branch - Meeting Room - St. Louis County Library (842 S Holmes Ave, St Louis, MO 63122)
