Join me at the Spence Lake Boat Launch for a celebration of two of my favourite things:
PADDLING & POTATO CHIPS!!
You bring your boat and I'll supply the chips.
Event starts at 8:30 am and at 9:00 am interested paddlers can launch their vessels for a group paddle on Spence Lake. I will be at the launch until 10:30 am for those who wish for a later start time on the water or for those who just want to stop by, say hello and grab some potato chips!
Note - there are plans underway for new caches to be published in time for this event.
About Spence Lake - it's a relatively small and shallow lake with a number of underwater obstacles near the shoreline - particularly at the west end of the lake. This launch area has a sandy spot for an easy launch in kayaks and canoes and a ramp for boats with motors. Most boats on the lake are there for fishing and the odd pontoon boat might pass you on your paddle. The water is generally clear and much of the lake has either a rocky or sandy shoreline so it's easy to step out.
As the launch is limited in size, please drop your boat and then move your car either along the roadside or to the waypointed parking further down the road. It's also Muskoka - bring your bug spray!
